Model Y is produced in Berlin, Model 3 comes from China. While Models S/X are probably produced in the US, they are not volume models. Soo… What you’re suggesting is picking a fight with China to make Model 3 more expensive?
The issue here was that they relocated their production (to Thailand) in order to circumvent tariffs. This wouldn’t apply to Model Y since it already is being produced here.

This is an example of what happened to Harley Davidson. I think the same rules would be applied in Teslas case.

Is “circumvent” the right word to use here? Isn’t it the intended outcome of tariffs that imports shift out of tariffed countries?
That’s the intended outcome when your goal is to hurt a foreign market, but not when your goal is to strengthen your local market.
