Why is Politico “trash by default” in your eyes if not because the leadership of Axel Springer would influence the articles according to their ideological convictions?

The article is not consistent with Axel Springers publicly stated ideology, which is a good indication that this specific article was not influenced by the leadership of Axel Springer.

So from my perspective it is more “tinfoil hat” to outright dismiss any article in Politico based solely on the fact that Axel Springer bought them a few years back, instead of actually looking into what the article says. When it comes to German media such as BILD or Welt there is plenty of evidence that the Axel Springer CEO Döpfner directly influenced the journalistic work to further his political ideology and parties he thought to align best with it. When it comes to Politico i am not aware of any evidence of such meddling and find it silly to attack them on that basis unless there is specific indications in the articles themselves.
