Like, we live on so much space but require furniture to be able to use it. I started sitting on the floor for large parts of the day last year and it’s been really nice. Also helps with general mobility!

I spend a lot of time on the floor. I even bought a meditation mat for a little bit of padding.

I’ll also lay on the floor. I have a firm bed but sometimes it’s just nicer on the floor. Even as a child, if I was stressed, I’d end up laying on the floor. It’s very grounding from that perspective.

I’d love to get a low desk one day so I can work while sitting on the floor. I always sit cross legged or on a foot but it’s very uncomfortable on chairs designed only for the size of a butt.

I bought a small portable table for my living room, handmade from Etsy. You can fold it. I wouldn’t use it as a working desk fully as the width is a bit too small (can’t get my legs under it when crossed), but for reading, eating, studying it works great. Unfortunately there seems to be quite a lack of “low tables” in the west compared to Asia… I wish I had more options.

There really isn’t much available for people who don’t want a chair/desk combination in North America. Feels a bit oppressive but maybe that’s my perspective since school was nothing but attention based torture for me.
