The Rockwool Foundation Berlin (RFBerlin) [opens pdf] reports that 32.1% of migrants from non-EU countries had a university degree or equivalent qualification in 2024 — up from 30.9% in 2023.

The study, released Monday, describes this as a “record level” and part of a continued upward trend over the past decade.

In Germany, the share of highly educated non-EU migrants rose from 29.4% to 31.1% over the same period. For migrants from other EU member states, the percentage holding a tertiary qualification climbed from 33.8% to 35.2% EU-wide, and from 28.6% to 30.1% in Germany.

“This continuous rise in education levels highlights the potential migrants bring to EU labor markets,” said Tommaso Frattini, co-director of the Center for Research and Analysis of Migration at RFBerlin and professor at the University of Milan. He said that if migrants’ skills are fully utilized, “they can be a key driver of economic growth across the EU.”

More and more immigrants are coming to Germany to work. In 2024, the proportion of foreign employees was just over 16%. It has more than doubled since 2010. Employment in medical professions is disproportionately high. More than one in six doctors is a foreign citizen.

So it was an issue of concern last week when the Institute for Employment Research (IAB) at the Federal Employment Agency said it had found that other countries are more attractive to economically successful foreigners and one in four say they are considering leaving Germany. Many of them are quoting discrimination as a reason.

Oh I’ve seen it first hand from begging to destruction of public property to starting fights, especially near train stations and - get this - stealing from a church.

Did you actually read my reply? I was saying that a few bad apples ruin it for the upstanding ones and that’s not racism, that’s a fact. My parents and I were and still are subject to racism by the indigenous population and sometimes I can’t blame them as the image is what it is.

Also saying everything that doesn’t coincide with your idealistic views is racism is a bit of a stretch. Right wing parties are on the rise from a time when they had single digit results. Do you mean to tell me that suddenly everyone is racist? That’s a bit simplistic.

This is not surprising at all when you see how insanely inefficient and discriminating our integration is. If you are not allowed to work, have to live in a small home with plenty of other people and the government officials behave like absolute pieces of shit I would start to get bored/angry too.

Im not saying that its not happening, Im just saying that media coverage of migrants crime is disproportionate, it doesn’t help to solve anything, it just adds fuel to the fire

Lol, so your proof is “trust me, I’m from a group I’ve said is full of criminals.”

Incarceration of a population may indicate over policing of a population. You still haven’t said anything substantial. Do you expect anybody to take you seriously?

Then there is nothing I can say that would convince you. So if I say I whiteness it it’s anecdotal, if I cite the statistics it’s over policing. It’s fine to have your own opinion. Mine is based on the things I witness, things my surroundings witness, different news outlets and facts like the rate of incarceration.

I don’t really need a random internet stranger to take me seriously as I don’t gain anything from it. Just wanted to add to the discussion. I won’t feed the edgy teen troll anymore though. Have a good one.

So neither one of your two methods of proof that a whole class of people is awful are good (also you didn’t cite any statistics), so I’m a teen troll?

              Have the day you deserve.
