If the shuttle didn’t exist, there are still a thousand things that would have had to go in a different direction to get a viable Mars program in the 80s and 90s. Not the least of which being that without the shuttle, and before the ISS, we would have no CLUE how to actually live in space for long periods of time.

So if we take it that we can’t go to Mars without learning how to live in space for extended durations. And we take it that in order to learn how to live in space we need to have a long duration presence there, like the ISS.

What exactly do people think was necessary to build the ISS…

I was an archaeology major, hence the history thing. And I’m fascinated by the psychology of crime.

I’m far far far from a younger consumer, and I find that I too have moved almost entirely to online content, mostly in the form of True Crime podcasts and YT channels, History Documentaries, etc…

Especially in non-fiction content, there’s pretty much nothing that paid TV can offer that Social Platforms cannot. It’s the only place where I think this whole internet experiment is actually working as intended; the democratization of knowledge.

Good luck keeping that military fueled, fed and maintained for more than a couple of months when embargoes start to hit and your resource supplies stop flowing in from the countries he’s pissing off.

As a country that has largely abandoned it’s own industries and become a net importer of goods, Pumpkin Putin doesn’t have the leverage he thinks he does.

America needs the rest of the worlds products more than the rest of the world need them buying it. Will it hurt to lose that many consumers of your product? You bet it will. It’ll suck ass and economies will suffer greatly. But not nearly as much as the U.S. will when they can’t get their raw materials for the small amount of manufacturing they still DO do.

The only leverage the U.S has is it’s military. And militaries run off of fuel, food and oil. It would be crippled within a month if everyone pulls a Norway and stops refueling them.

Canada seriously needs to make a big show of offering the same thing. It’s now or never.

Their so-called “value” was always determined by the ability of the person shilling it to make up bullshit. Literally the definition of a “confidence” game. Same problem as crypto in general. The moment that person loses the confidence of their marks, the entire thing crumbles to nothing because it isn’t backed by any real tangible assets.
