In my experience, if you didn’t write the function that creates the list, there’s a solid chance it could be None too, and if you try to check the length of None, you get an error. This is also why returning None when a function fails is bad practice IMO, but that doesn’t seem to stop my coworkers.

As a fan of everything about Tron, every word you used to describe Maleficent is the opposite of what I want out of a Tron movie.

I’m sorry but I just can’t believe that this is actually happening. This sounds so fake. What seems more reasonable, that crowds are going crazy in the theater and chanting to something from the (widely panned) trailer, or that the producers paid a couple people to write fake testimonials?

The director is also a guy Disney throws at a movie when they want money, but don’t really want it to be good or anything.

From the moment I saw superdog in the trailer, I was worried there would be no real substance behind the movie, just fan service and silliness. I guess I don’t have to be too worried, I’m sure they’ll reboot it with something more serious in 5 years or so.

The thing that really got me thinking on it was that he never even mentioned that Mark Ruffalo is a very literal allegory for Trump. I find the most common way of criticizing anti-Trump art is to avoid acknowledging its relation to him, even if any other criticism you can give is fairly superficial. The Boys and Kendrick Lamar’s halftime show come to mind as recent examples.

The movie was first and foremost a criticism of Trumpism and late-stage capitalism, the sci-fi setting was merely incidental. If you leave all that stuff out, yeah, of course it was a bland sci-fi movie, it was also about 10 minutes long!
