Pretty much any adult has a smartphone capable of running discord and with a camera. You only have to verify once on any device.

Based on my experience with similar things in the past, it activates the camera for a few seconds and you have to pan to give it a 3d image of your face.

It doesn’t. It’s not like this page gets used internally. They have their own internal guidelines for that.

This is not a legal contract, it’s a general guideline for users about what is or isn’t acceptable. The intent and spirit of the terms are clear, the only question is whether Google will enforce them not. If the enforcement is crappy, like what Facebook is famous for, it doesn’t matter a damn what exact terminology they use in the guidelines.

The ban already happened. There was nothing massively unpopular about it. And whoever lets the exemption lapse doesn’t have to take the heat for it, since they can just blame it on Biden.

How would you prevent that? The US can just ban Tiktok anytime and gain that prop stranglehold.

While I hate Google, this seems like one of those much ados over nothing. They specifically mention ‘sex, gender, or sexual orientation’, which to most reasonable people would cover gender identity.

The global birth rate is already at or even below the replacement rate. The only reason we’re not seeing population shrinkage right now is due to inertia. It takes decades for changes in the birth rate to reflect in the actual population figures, but it will happen. It won’t however happen in time to prevent environmental catastrophe, which is what most people think of when they cheer dropping birth rates. It will just be the social catastrophe of the next century.
