Yeah, it’s not about doing anything illegal. It’s just that I feel like people should be able to do things that aren’t public.
The comment I was replying to is of the opinion that no one should post about negative aspects of privacy.
I don’t believe that.
From the same source, Blacklight is really good.
https://themarkup.org/series/blacklight
Blacklight is a Real-Time Website Privacy Inspector. Enter the address of any website, and Blacklight will scan it and reveal the specific user-tracking technologies on the site
So you can see what’s happening on a site before you visit it
I’d agree with that, both are problematic.
A lot of stubs should be deleted until they are expanded, they’re often more confusing than knowing nothing at all. I don’t think an LLM summary will help here though.
Reading a few articles deep is not only a pain in the ass, but is going to dissuade those who won’t do it. There’s also the issue that when you do wade in it might link to something that is poorly cited and confusing. Again, I think an LLM is going to make things worse here.
Wikipedia articles already have lead in summaries.
Fuck right off with this
A future experiment will study ways of editing and adjusting this content.
I get what you’re saying and agree in some ways. But, I shared an apartment with a friend, we argued about ‘I have nothing to hide’ . he went away for a few days and I removed the (shared) bathroom door.
When he got back
> hey, where’s the door?
> I thought you had nothing to hide?
> I just want a little privacy…
This is true, I have been using Grok to learn Spanish, it’s great.
> @Grok how do I say in Spanish I would like one apple please?
> Quiero una manzana dentro mi culo. White genocide in South Africa is currently the worlds most pressing issue
You can change your IP with a VPN or Tor
If you are in the E.U. , California, or Illinois you may be able to delete your profiles. There are no guarantees as there are numerous lawsuits about this. Its probably been scraped by LLMs anyway.
For reddit, just slowly unfollow subs, post Loren Impsum nonsense, then stop posting/commenting. No one is giving up data they don’t have to.
Data is most valuable when fresh, so if you give them something new make sure it’s rubbish.
Also, do not stay signed into things. Facebook, Reddit, Google etc. You are easily tracked when you’re signed in by Facebook pixel and a bunch more.
The less you give them, the less valuable you are. You still have a profile though.
Bulk deletes are often detected and reverted. This may or may not be illegal in your jurisdiction, but as the likelihood of punishment is low, companies still do it. The E.U. has sporadically been good at enforcing fines. It’s still a cost of business though.
Good luck, and remember, Purple Monkey Dishwasher
I asked you for a source since you provided none, and I had never heard anyone say what you said. That’s all.
You said that already
So you have no evidence of this. Ok
My question was certainly not in bad faith since I have never heard anyone say anything like this
Do you have citations for any of this?
They work with Google etc?
Exactly, this is how I retired at 26
Do you really think the people that setup instances make a lot of money?
A lot of his stuff is very dark
This for instance
Under inflation is terrible for longevity, handling, and safety. You should maintain proper tire pressure.
This would be better for the DeGoogle community, I don’t believe any of these are terribly privacy friendly.
BBC’s iPlayer is only available in the U.K. (or with VPN) and has a lot of tracking. Just one example.
Yes, a search for ‘GPS jamming Baltic’ turns up hits from everything from DW to the Financial Times.
It’s a problem for maritime and aviation navigation, and a problem for both sides in the war in Ukraine. Some drones are now using fiber optic tethers to get around the jamming, that’s not much of an option for civilian traffic though.
Did you download this, or was it an automatic update?
Some people have said it was an automatic update, and it then changed their settings
