The burden of proof should be on whoever is making a claim. If someone accuses me of doing something with no evidence, my verbal denial shouldn’t be skeptical without proof. Brother isn’t in a position that they should require to provide proof against the claim being made against them. I didn’t see any mention in the article of other user’s printers being bricked aside from the original claim from 2022. Maybe some further investigation would come up with something, but claims made on Reddit posts and YouTube videos hardly count as proof of anything.
I dont see how the burden of proof is on Brother. If you’re looking for verification from tens of thousands of other printer users and hearing crickets, i think you have your answer.
Buying Blu-ray, going to theaters, and buying merchandise aren’t alternatives to owning digitally. I won’t speak for all pirates, but I just want to own a digital copy of what i pay for. Even streaming with a paid subscription isn’t a viable alternative. I don’t pirate to protest, I pirate because there’s no other choice.
Personally no i never rooted for Walt. Don’t get me wrong I still enjoyed his character and the show overall but I figured him to be a pretty bad guy from the start. Sometimes I just enjoy a show even when all the main characters are bad people. It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia is another example from a completely different genre. Most episodes end with those characters in a bad predicament based solely off of their poor actions, but that’s what makes it interesting to watch for me. I would feel like a shitty person of i rooted for them because they are incredibly shitty people. Another example i can think of is Narcos. That show was wildly popular, but there’s no way anyone can justify rooting for Pablo Escobar.
Anyway I guess that’s all beside the point of why you may not like No Country for Old Men. I haven’t seen that movie in a long time so I can’t recall many details. But I can still appreciate reading your thoughts on what makes for good storytelling. There’s really no right or wrong as far as I’m concerned, everyone has their preferences.
Do you not like any movies or shows where the main character is the bad guy? The Sopranos is my all time favorite show but I’ve never rooted for Tony. Breaking bad is great too but I still never rooted for Walter White.
This is a part of how any business is valued. You don’t just buy the building, stock, brand name, etc. You also buy the customer base. Any place you’ve ever done business with that later got sold, has made you a part of the sale technically.
