I’m from Ireland and I agree with the sentiment. For all the criticism we (in Ireland) level at those countries, we are very much US/UK foot soldiers. Ireland also props up the EPP in the EU, which is Israels biggest enabler. It’s the reason they face no sanctions for genocide.

It is. But in some cases there’ll be a game or something that has requirements that are hard to wrestle with. For me it was a video game that needed specific libraries to run (possibly directX or whatever is current these days). After hours of attempts I downloaded Crossover and it worked instantly.
Desktop applications like the Office suites typically ran well for me in WINE. although my experience with those is dated by now.
I’m speaking from a macOS perspective but I’ve used WINE on Linux too.
I consider myself a trans ally, but I’m struggling to keep up with the latest pronouns. Congrats!
Crossover isn’t cheap, but it can save so much time compared to WINE that I think it does pay for itself.
In case it’s of help, a common problem I find with guides in general is that they assume I don’t already use Apache (or some other service), and describe as though I’m starting with a clean system. As a newbie, it’s hard to know what damage the instructions will do to existing services, or how to adapt the instructions.
Since docker came along it’s gotten easier, and I’ve learned enough about ports etc to be able to avoid collisions. But it would be great if guides and tutorials in general covered that situation.

USA are searching people’s phones for signs of criticism of government policy. They are detaining and deporting people (even citizens). China is not the sole bogeyman you think it is.

So if someone is reading a personal email I sent them, in this case it is likely covertly screenshot by Microsoft. I abandoned MS in the early 2000s over privacy concerns and monopolistic behaviour. But I never thought I would think twice about messaging someone with a Windows computer. Here we are.
And the electorate who vote for them.
