European 🇪🇺
Yes, It’s all about durability, eco friendly and sustainability. I’m all for that. I just like it when you get stuff ( new or used ofc), that simply keeps functioning for years.
You mean you didn’t know Northvolt was Swedish? What did the Canadian subsidiary do exactly? I mean there have been strange coincidences or sabotages in both afaik…
Good that those EU subsidies which were allocated to Northvolt remain in Europe, as will their tech.
Iirc, CATL held some shares, I wonder if VW/ Scania bought that as well.
Both probably. The whole thing is… horrible and nauseating, etc etc. .many bad words
The author raises what seems a complicated issue, which translates into something like Real Politik.
His argument follows some common steps, and these are often used when coping with the extreme right( not an expert in French poltics):
The extreme right (and also the Trumpists & Putinist) are calling this a breach to democracy. Basically, gaslighting and issuing methodical disinformation about democratic values.
Leftist and Centrist fear, that they won’t find a good political Programme to firewall a charismatic extreme right Populist like Bardella (Or fill in any other name).
From my Political analysis point of view, this isn’t a situation unique to France. If democratic parties from Europe want to safeguard democracy, they will need to step up. In order to do so, they must start to unite, work from strength and not fear, and also use an anti-propaganda playbook. People and Politicians are still somewhat naive about the force of Propaganda, imo. Failing to do that, will result in political failure against the surging extreme Populists.
What we can appreciate though are the failguards of democratic values in Europe. If enough voters realise what is at stake here, democracy should remain safe, but not without continuous effort, both from voters and politicians.
I also miss mentioning “the elephant in the room”.: we, Europe and our values, are Under Siege. Sometimes internally and more often externally. This democratic “emergency”, unfortunately sometimes calls for “seemingly undemocratic” methods, because our politics relies on vows taken, trust and good husbandry.
So yes, we must clean the houses of certain individuals, those who are judged traitors to the European cause, while posing as democratic Politicians. We unfortunately live in such times, where we no longer can take the risk of appeasement nor do we have the luxury of forgiving individuals, whom by a constutinual court have been judged "guilty ". I am also hereby trusting to the courts and due to prcess. But, only to the extent of what my political engaged citizenship allows me. Ergo, one must use one own critical thinking, as a way to protect any bias or influence, within and without. It will always be a difficult balancing act. (ed: some polishing)
The Russians already have partly invaded Moldova, the region Transnistria. It’s full of the mysterious “green man.”
Moldova needs to be hawkish.
Article is 5 days old fyi
When I read the word "visit"in the title, it just sounded strange/inappropriate to me, as if it was a social call.
“Afterwards, the delegation visited the CHP’s provincial headquarters”, the same article reads later on.
Same word complete different setting. This use has never bothered me before, just struck me as nor the best word in this specific context, as hundred of thousands are protesting and some other thousands have been jailed.
Alternatively, EU delegation spoke with/ checked on Omaglu, would’ve made more sense to me, here.
What a strange title. Did they bring flowers or plasters? Hope Imamoglu is ok and gets freed soon though.
“Meanwhile, the broader population remains skeptical, with the most common concern being that adopting the euro could drive up prices and lower living standards, the dorzeczy.pl website reported.”
Well I guess that could be true. Especially, when business owners abuse the conversion to get the prices higher ( that happened in my country after the adoption, then later they had to lower it cause many stopped buying). In general though it should make things cheaper, according to the theory.
Maybe, it’s also about identity and being sceptical to the EU in general.
Refusal to withdraw troops to Russia proper show that Russia doesn’t want peace.
💯
Btw gonna use your earlier post for more context.
I’ve been following how Europe would respond to the Trump-Putin BS, this week. Just now, I got curious as to what Moscow was saying about those meetings and I found this.
It’s funny how they keep talking about " the West" and that Europe doesn’t want peace, because we won’t lift sanctions.
From Europe’s POV, it’s really hard to distinguish the rethoric from the East from Trump’s. This article is another testimony to that lunacy, imo.
+Let’s keep standing firmly together Europe and Allies 🇪🇺🇬🇧🇨🇦🇦🇺🇺🇦🇬🇱
No NATO imperialist army wil set one foot in that country.
What are you going on about? You do realise that the Russians are the imperialist here.
Also it’s not NATO, but a coalition of the willing.
Though I’m no expert to that specific situation, and I don’t condone abuse or mistreating people, this Oxfam report fails to provide a very relevant context ( wiki), very much akin to the Finish situation. I.e. the horrible abuse of migrants by Russia/Belarús as part of their hybrid warfare.
“In August 2021, the government of Belarus began coordinating an influx of migrants, mostly from the Middle East and North Africa, to the borders of Lithuania, Poland and Latvia. Although Belarus denied involvement, both the European Union and independent” observers viewed it as hybrid warfare undertaken in response to the deterioration in Belarus–European Union relations following the 2020 Belarusian presidential election and the 2020–2021 Belarusian protests"…
That was a simpler world. Imagine that.
They’ve been saying shit like that for years.
About US and Russia together? That’s kind of newish.
Why are people talking about taxing the rich -though I agree-, when the article is about safeguarding the European Capital Market?
It’s about the danger of being vulnerable to actors holding strong (market) positions to negatively influnce the market. Like the security banking crisis of 2008.
Probably Maga logic: "Putin is a Fascist like Trump. So not a bad guy, he’s super smart. "
Many mysterious outages of late. Maybe because of energy overload issues , an outdated grid, and or sabotage.
