  • That actually aged well:

Ultimately, the goal of our sanctions is to make this a strategic failure for Russia. And let’s define a little bit of what that means: Strategic success in the 21st century is not about a physical land grab of territory. That’s what Putin has done. In this century, power — strategic power is increasingly measured and exercised by economic strength, by technological sophistication, and your story — who you are, what your values are, can you attract ideas and talent and goodwill. On each of those measures, this would be a failure for Russia.

  • Imagine you could be friends, allies and business partner with whole europe, and you bend your knee for… check notes Russia.

How much does Serbia thinks Russia is gonna buy from them “After the war”™? Ey, Serbia, your fear for your old Bully is showing. You know what helps? Standing up against Bullies when you are surounded by friends. Why not try something new before caving back into your weak devotism for soviet scare tactics. You are free now, you do not have to be afraid of the russian bear anymore. Except maybe your pathetic leader is still spooked. Maybe change that guy first to enjoy your freedom, if he is the one holding you down too.

  • Nuclear Power is heavily subsuidezed in France. Most in france related to nuclear are state institutions. Including the Energy Company EDF and the scientific institute CEA. It is often phrased as a state-in-state with a lot of undisclosed structures and money funds. They were created when France saw in the 60s that they need also a nuclear bomb and hence developed a state-close structure that until today in not giving out too much informations. The French citizens pay with their taxes for their nuclear power plants. Heavily. And they hide it behind a lot of structures. Who is paying for the construction? The Repair? The Decomission? - Right: French citizens. If if calculate all these cost into the bill, Nuclear energy is one of the most expensive energy forms there are.

  • I’m still at awe how we are living in post-reddit times, where a title can just be changed. Just like that. How many untrue titles and straight lies were posted back then on Reddit and it was just accepted as a fact that once a post ist up, it can never change its holy title. Like it were not technical possible. They decided to feed uneditable lies and florished from that. BUUUH REDDIT.
