Same MO as when they took out kremlin’s candidate in Romania. Because nothing says “save democracy” like a manufactured protest with paid party members and acolytes.
It’s not just perception, it’s mindless tribalism and it’s a form of bigotry in itself. It’s no better than doing things to “own the libs” or whatever.
And the irony, some express this attitude on lemmy, which unlike signal is an actual platform, not a chat app, and with tankie roots to top it off.

This may have been strictly procedure, since she was already banned once, from running in the first election run. But yes, when she was banned initially, the reasons were extremely vague ( russian interference and whatnot ) and haven’t gotten any better.
