IIRC the original US copyright law as written by the founders was 25 years or so. The extensions on that have all been in the last 70 years or so due to mega corps like Disney.
The problem with Musk and Dorsey is that they want the copyright laws to apply to them but no one else. “Rules for thee but not for me” mentality of the wealthy.
I can honestly see a use case for this. But without backing it up with some form of technical understanding, I think you’re just asking for trouble.
If you are believing what those things are popping out wholesale without double-checking to see if they’re feeding you fever dreams you are an absolute fool.
I don’t think I’ve seen a single statement come out of an LLM that hasn’t had some element of daydreamy nonsense in it. Even small amounts of false information can cause a lot of damage.
What exactly is the benefit of using an LLM? Why would I bother using one at all?
You realize that the only reason Lemmy hasn’t become so enshitified is because the user base is too small for the corpos to seriously target it yet. The day Lemmy has more than a million users the army of bots will not be too far behind.
the USA offer: less morality, less market
Europe needs a different partner
The console is manufactured in Vietnam
Which begs the question of why the console is going to be $100 cheaper for Japanese than anyone else even before you factor in the tariff situation.
Keep telling yourself that. It’s not like you’re dealing with a greedy corporation that has spent the last several years wiping out every alternative platform for playing their older games so that you have no other way to play their titles that they keep jacking the price up on simply because they can.
That’s the thing. It’s 2025. The Switch came out in 2017 and the Switch 2 is barely a step up from the Switch OLED. Which, BTW, isn’t even and option on the Switch 2. And 256 memory? Is that a joke? Plus their new scheme is to not have the games on the physical cartridge but to only have a key code on the cartridge that transfers to the console. And that’s not even looking and the drastically inflated price of the games. Not just new games but all the old ones are priced out at $80 to $90 a piece as well.
Cartridge games for the Switch 2 aren’t even cartridge games anymore, haven’t you heard? There’s no game on the cartridges just a passkey.
The Switch 2 looks like absolute garbage so they can keep it.
My next console purchase with be a Steam Deck.
The critics were right
Goes to prove that LinkedIn is just exactly like every other social media platform despite what many people seem to believe.
There really isn’t one. That’s why they feel that they can do whatever they feel like. They have no real competition for the type of service they offer.
You have always been able to use your own domain email with Thunderbird. The big news here is the fact that they are launching not only a web based mail service a la Thunderbird but also providing an email server for addresses of [yourchosenname]@thundermail.com. which is gonna be pretty great.
It fell into the wrong hands 3 years ago. If those people failed to recognize the danger they put themselves in by continuing to use the platform they are shit out of luck cause Musk will never take responsibility.
I think you missed the part in Tron where the MCP said the human beings were functionally useless as anything but slaves. This wasn’t a “I can run the human world better” this was more of an Ultron deal where it believed that it would either be a better world without humans or a Forbin Project sitch where all of humanity should be micromanaged slaves to its will.
Bigoted against what?? A machine? The money grubbing assholes who are using those machines to profit on other people’s work without giving them a dime in compensation? Who the hell are you defending here?
Studio Ghibli and their artists put in millions of hours collectively to create works if absolute art. Sam Altman just borrowed millions of dollars to rip them off.
No, but don’t you understand? Tesla is not a car company, it’s an AI company. They were just making cars while developing AI systems. So it’s fine if they stop selling cars. So just keep buying TSLA stock and everything will work out great!
