I mean, what’s the point of collecting all that data if there is no use to it. Why offering you a points program that seemingly gives you free stuff for tracking your purchases if there is no benefit to the company. I’d say unless it’s a hugely incompetent company, they don’t collect so much data on people for no reason whatsoever.

And its been going on for decades with some people having handed in their info to various companies, many of them maybe even connected at some level the different dots on people, for the entire time. And that’s all for nothing so now those companies also need to record you 24/7? Which is an even bigger amount of data to be stored exactly where? Also needs a massive amount of filtering, because really, how meaningful are everyday conversations of people.

Yeah, with you on this. I know in the past these arrangements have been very lenient but the recent political developments just show this isn’t the case anymore. It is very silly right now to admit you wanted to work on a tourist visa.

About having no bookings yet, that part was always sketchy. I went 15 years ago to the US for a 4 week trip and had only lined up the first hostel for a few days, the rest I had not planned yet, luckily got no questions but worried about it back then already… Guess this is a thing of the past now.

The treatment however is definitely over the line.

It wasn’t great, but interesting. Definitely pokey still but maybe the hedgehogs weren’t too happy being handled. I also read somewhere they can be quite big assholes as pets, but no idea if its true.

You can actually pet grown hedgehogs, I think if they are happy the needles are not pointing upwards, but I might be wrong about it.

Sounds like a transcoding issue which AFAIK can depend on the machine you try to play this with. Doesn’t really solve your problem other than next time get something that’s better at playing more video formats, which is a hilarious and silly problem to have these days.

Less than it was but still useful. I know several people who were approached by recruiters and got their current jobs via that. And these were decent specialist jobs in R&D.

I have been approached many times, however half the time it was for something completely outside my experience, the ones that weren’t I didn’t have enough experience in comparison to other candidates. And I am not actively looking to change jobs.

It has gotten less like that though and the feed has become almost completely useless unless you aggressively block everyone perpetuating crappy posts. But then there’s ads for companies that ublock doesn’t seem to detect because they are just looking like posts.

If you restrict the crap out of the phones so there is not much interesting to do for kids, it will have similar effects. E.g. they complain about YouTube on their kids phones, block it. Complain about games, don’t let them install them.
