I’ve seen Windows 10 run on computers with 8 GB of RAM. I can’t imagine 11 running on just 4 though.
Also it can double as a self-defense weapon cause it weighs like 10 lbs.
When I was at school they reckoned that I should be in the gifted program so I ended up getting one of the first laptops. This would have been in the very early 1990s and the thing weighed as much as a small whale and was built like a brick. I absolutely used it as a weapon.
It had a grayscale backlit LCD screen. It was seriously a terrible laptop really. It had an interesting mode on it where you could transfer files from it to another computer by plugging it in via a PS2 port, and it would declare itself to be a keyboard and it would just “type” whatever you’d written (of course you lost all formatting). Bit of a useless feature these days but it would have been a godsend back in the early 2000s when transferring files was still quite difficult.
Yeah but you can also run Windows on the modern Raspberry Pi’s.
It definitely won’t happen as long as the corporate world is slaved to Microsoft. We actually have a few Linux computers on our domain at work and they’re a pain to administer as are the four Macs that we have.
I get having Linux and Windows, after all you need a backup solution for when you can’t use Linux. But why do you also have a Mac?
Then I guess iOS makes sense if you have a Mac, but why also have Android?

His followers aren’t exactly tech savvy so I’m not entirely sure this is going to have much of an effect. Most of his followers are kids who don’t even own computers they just have iPads
I’ve often wondered why big businesses particularly supermarkets have preferred designs. After all as you say every environment is different, so it’s not like they can just have pre-completed parts.

I know they already have AI controlled cargo container cranes (the big square ones you see at docks). That’s a pretty easy task to automate since the manifest will already contain all of the information about all of the containers.
There are ways that humans can build skyscrapers in a matter of a couple of weeks. We just don’t tend to do it because time isn’t really an important factor and it’s expensive.
I’m sure we could make skyscraper building robots capable of completing the construction in a matter of hours, I’m just not sure where the utility in doing that is.

I think the problem was they probably trained the AI on Americans driving normally i.e badly, Americans have zero lane discipline, every video I’ve ever seen of Americans driving is like an instructional video on how not to do it.
I have absolutely no problem with self-driving vehicles and I’m fully prepared to accept that it is a possibility in the near future. However I am also utterly confident that it won’t be Tesla that finally cracks it, and I am sure that they will still call it “full self driving” even in a future where we have actual full self driving.
The law really needs to be laid down on this stuff, unless it can actually drive itself without a human even in the vehicle, and do so reliably, then they’re not allowed to call it anything that implies that capability.
It sounds like the version they were using didn’t have the right drivers in the build. Seems a lot of work to go to just to get new drivers.

No it’s not but it’s also not something I’m prepared to put up with. When I turn my computer on it’s because I have something I want to do and the thing I want to do with it is not mess with the basic configuration.
