I’ve been on the internet since like 1992 and I’ve never once capitalized it, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen it capitalized. shrug

Aliens didn’t exactly break new ground in strong female characters (except perhaps with Ripley as lead), but it was an early very popular movie that had strong female characters who weren’t dependent upon men to save them so it was pretty good for representing women as something other than Hollywood’s standard of the time. Not great mind you because the only way either of them managed to achieve that is by making both of them (especially Vasquez, Ripley at least had some nuance) act like traditional male characters, but it was a big step.

I’m not all that keen on Samsung myself, but the ‘and shit’ here is a stand-in for the other makers of android phones for the US market. I’m sure google would be happy to supply a list, but I can’t be fucked to go find it.

No, DOGE is about dismantling/looting the parts of government that are capable of regulating and taxing oligarchs in the name of ‘saving money.’ If they somehow do actually save any money (and with the recent removal of most of their ‘successes’ from the website even that is heavily debatable) it will just go into more tax breaks for the rich.

Data harvesting is just part of the looting, but it’s gravy, not the main course.

If I could steal a car by downloading it over the internet without depriving the original owner of it and with similarly low risk of getting caught/prosecuted for it I would absolutely steal a car. I wouldn’t steal a font tho, that’s just beyond the pale. :P

Fair enough, I haven’t looked at it at all since I last used linux a couple decades ago, that’s just been my experience with trying to use other linux-native software on windows.
