I was talking about motors and Induction isn’t in fact explicitly better. I think they could be if we have no other choice but to throw research at them but for right now there have fairly equal trade offs.

as far as magnets are concerned there are better designs out there that are not being pursued because neodymium is so much easier.

what’s maintenance? is that when an auto-update breaks everything and you spend an entire weeknight looking up tutorials because you forgot what you did to get this mess working in the first place?
I’ve heard it put very well that AI is either having a Napster moment in which case we will not recognise the world 10 years from now, or it’s having an iPhone moment and it will get marginally better at best but is essentially in it’s final form.
I personally think it’s more like 3D movies and in 20 years when it comes back around we’ll look at this crap like it was Red and Blue glasses.
I would probably suggest just getting a Synology NAS or similar because it’s plug and play.
