A self-hosted VPN is the most secure free way to host your Jellyfin. I’ve had to learn the hard way over the years, but all the features and control you gain for hosting services yourself comes with all the same responsibilities and risk that the provider would be taking on for you.
The money you spend on their service is the alternative to the many hours it takes to learn how to properly host your own server.
You can definitely learn how to do it and it will be difficult and confusing at times, but that’s what the community is there for. I recommend joining a Matrix server or similar so you can get more real-time feedback for when you’re just getting started.
Totally understand not wanting to take the risk, though. Just something worth considering.
It’s admittedly not a “fun” movie. It’s a really sad story in the end and most of the movie, the characters are uncomfortable in their situation.
I think it touches on some real questions we’re going to have to ask ourselves in the coming years about how much we’re going to allow AI into our personal lives.
For anyone who hasn’t seen it, it forgets most of it, it’s worth seeing. Just don’t expect iRobot or Black Mirror.
I have one of these that’s about 6 or 7 years old at this point and still glowing alright. Pretty neat little things!

I think it pays even more to not use X
I’d imagine any company open-sourcing their code has to go through a pretty decent amount of re-written routines. Nvidia has been open-sourcing their drivers, but it’s been taking forever. I can only imagine how complex commenting GPU firmware must be.
But that would take woooorrrrk 😤
Saving this for later
I’m pretty sure you’re main character in an Assassin’s Creed game.
Awesome. Can’t wait to get pulled over for driving normally.
Except that a PDF isn’t dynamic. You’d be locked to whatever the page/text ratio was on every unique screen size. Not to mention all of the accessibility you lose because you can’t use a dyslexia-friendly font or increase the font size for bad eyesight.
That’s all before we get into the performance hits. EPUB certainly has its place in the market.
I just recently played through Catalyst and I know it was divisive, but I’m firmly in the “I wish it had another 6 months to cook and it would have been a banger” crowd. The only major issues I had were with unreliable parkour, which I bet they could have resolved. It was so close to being a winner if it weren’t for that.
As much as MM1 is a slower movie, I actually appreciate it as a foundation for the others. It really lets your mind imagine how things went from 1 to 2.
