Most likely countries to invade are far right authoritarian. Though IDK where you live, if you’re in like Russia or Iran there’s merit to the idea that conditions might improve. If you’re in any of the classic “western” countries, no way, though - even the USA has better working conditions than Russia.
I guess I’m eating nothing but garbage every day.
I’m definitely not paying those prices.
When’s the last time a “billion-dollar startup” was a net positive for society? All I see is grifters and privacy-invading, planet-polluting tech that furthers authoritarian government policy.
Do you have either Aldi or Lidl within easy walking distance to your home/school/workplace? If so, just go to that one.
How can you get spaghetti wrong?
Don’t they carry regular pasta (spaghetti etc.)?
Neither is cheap enough to justify not going to an EDEKA or REWE if those are in reasonable walking distance. Usually, the cheap store brands of EDEKA, REWE are just as cheap as the equivalent products at Aldi and Lidl (in Germany, at least). And even if you use a car for shopping, EDEKA and REWE have a much bigger selection.
Even then, they’re generally still cheaper than products made in the e.g. the US or Germany. There’s a reason why German companies have so many auto/auto parts factories in lower-wage EU countries, and even for models that are “made in Germany” often a considerable amount of the parts are manufactured outside of Germany.
Also, don’t confuse chinese brands with products made in china. Most consumer electronics are made in the far east, even if the brand is from the US.
And they especially don’t want end users to be informed about the game’s life expectancy before they pay for it!
How exactly does supporting genocide get them elected? I don’t get the impression that Labour voters want to see Palestinians murdered.
Depends on the topic. Economic and foreign policy sure, and he most likely got pointers on how to actually put his views into action, but the guy voted in favor of letting husbands rape their wives in 1997. Telling him to hate on LGBT+ is like kicking in an open door.
Hey now, that guy is perfectly capable of being a reactionary piece of shit on his own! This kind of thing is entirely in line with what he already thinks.
I don’t like her, either, but the vote was initiated by a far righter (i.e. a corporate far right bootlicker), and I rather doubt that we’ll get a new commission president who is more progressive than her, considering the current balance of power in the EU parliament.

I hope you’re aware that words like Rindfleischetikettierungsüberwachungsaufgabenübertragungsgesetz aren’t exactly easy to understand for Germans, either. If there’s one thing English is usually really good at, it’s dumbing things down to a level that’s easy to understand for the reader; some scientific texts are genuinely easier to understand in the English translation than in the German original, even if you’re a native German speaker with a relevant university degree.
Technically Schyzerdütsch is High German (you could even say it’s the Highest German, considering elevation), while what most Germans call ‘Hochdeutsch’ is actually standard german (which, to be fair, is mostly derived from High and Middle German dialects, as opposed to Low German (and Middle German is much more similar to High German than to Low German)).
It’s really not that different.
German: Dampfschiffkapitän
English: steam boat captain
German, if compound words worked like in English: Dampf Schiff Kapitän
English, if compound words worked like in German: steamboatcaptain
I think the demographic for lemmy (and lemmy.ml in particular) is so niche and so biased towards privacy that even with a bigger sample, it’s next to impossible to get really good data. Probably good enough to say that it’s very likely that there’s a significantly skewed gender distribution, though. The user polls that were done on my instance showed similar results IIRC.
